The Nokia along with HTC are my favourite brands. This Nokia is large but has good features and functionality. The larger RAM and on-board storage is necessary to run the type of apps that I use. The ability to add additional storage up to 1TB is extremely useful. 1:25 OS maps need a lot of storage and when there is no signal, downloading is not an option, but phone based storage is. During setup, the copying of apps, data and accounts from my HTC One M9 to the Nokia 8.3 was smooth but incomplete. Not all apps were copied automatically because of supposed OS version incompatibility. All but one of the 13 apps would install and run when copied manually. This still left the issue of having to verify the phone and user accounts with the provider such as Ordnance Survey, Memory Map, NHS and others. The Google assist button is annoying and placed opposite the power button means it is all too easily activated accidentally. It can be disabled but not reassigned. What’s missing – an IR transmitter which I would use to control my house-hold devices but more importantly – cameras. Now I have to carry additional remotes (wireless or cable). One other missing item are buttons to control the screen, the apps and navigation. Gestures, swipes and shakes are all well and good but are not 100%. Buttons are 100% reliable whether they are physical or logical doesn’t matter. Not having these features is definitely a backward step. Vollständige Rezension lesen

Having been a die hard Nokia fan using variants since the days of the ill fated Lumia 800 series. I most recently had the Nokia 8 which had stopped getting security updates so it was time, after 3 years, to get a new phone. For the record Apple is NEVER an option. Finally choosing this phone I was concerned by its size compared to the Nokia 8 but after a day it felt normal. The phone is beautiful and is very quick but the camera bis where I felt this excels as it takes portrait shots worthy of DLSRs which I wasn't aware of. My phone came with the official transparent case, Nokia wireless earbuds which made it even more of a bargain and it is getting updates for a minimum of two years. What don't I like .... It's a little heavier than I'm used to and with the larger screen I think if I didn't have Shrek hands I'd be at risk of dropping it. The side assistant button seems completely superfluous as you normally just talk to the phone and some of the gesture controls in Android 11 take some getting used to as I'm still use to the physical button to go back but that's not the phones fault that's just me being slow. So is the phone good, yes it's amazing and for the price it's even better.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I am far more impressed with this phone than I thought I would be, actually its the best I have had so far, I wanted a bigger screen than my OPPO phone which in every other respect I was happy with so I picked this Nokia up at a good price and its turned out to be really good. Its fast and responsive and the fingerprint reader and NFC (for Google pay) both work better than on the OPPO, I personally really like the positioning of the fingerprint reader on the power switch and it works extremely well. The Google assistant button was pointless for me so I disabled it, if only you could reassign it to open the camera, but alas not possible. Now on to the camera TOP TIP TOP TIP, at first I thought the camera was not as good as the OPPOs shooter but the only thing holding the camera back on this Nokia is the camera App itself. It takes good shots using the stock app however I now use GCAM (Google Camera) as the default camera app and it gives terrific results, as good as the OPPO now, the stock app was a little bit laggy and the post processing magic was not as good as the magic applied with GCAM, many of the recent improvements in phone cameras are down to clever software, and Google Camera (GCAM) is the best (as used in the Google Pixel devices), so great phone, fast, big screen and a great camera if you install GCAM,Vollständige Rezension lesen
